About the Open House Events
The Teel Campus Open House is for students entering grades six through eleven and offers a comprehensive view of what student life looks like as an Admiral. The evening program includes information sessions on academics, athletics, the arts, and the school’s mission and philosophy. Prospective families can also ask questions during a Q&A session with a panel of students.
The Chesapeake Campus Open House is designed to provide parents with a genuine sense of daily life for the younger Admirals. During this parents-only event, attendees will meet Severn’s admission team, talk with current parents, and tour the school.
New Theatre Events Added
New this fall, Severn is offering both an Invited Dress Rehearsal and an Improv Workshop for prospective students and families.
On October 21, the Severn Improv Club will host a 1-hour Improv Workshop for prospective students. Registration is required and will open on July 1.
On the evening of November 18, the Water Street Players, Severn’s student theatre group, will hold its final dress rehearsal for the fall production of She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen. She Kills Monsters tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge.
Prospective students and parents are invited to attend this final dress rehearsal – where anything can, and often does, go wrong – and then stay to talk with the cast and crew at the end. While not a performance, observing a dress rehearsal offers an authentic look at the whole process of producing a show. Registration is required and will open on July 1.
