Learning Resource Center (LRC)

Here for Every Student

LRC
The Hoehn-Saric Family Center for Academic Excellence works to serve the needs of all learners and to help each student identify and work in his or her upper range. We support each student’s effort to develop effective learning skills and strategies, but more importantly, we work to ensure that each student develops greater self-awareness and confidence in his or her own ability, thus achieving long-term success at Severn and beyond.

Our Philosophy

The LRC holds true to a belief that students must be active participants in their own learning process but that each student may benefit from different types and levels of support in order to achieve his or her greatest potential.

The LRC Mission

The Center provides comprehensive services to support the needs of the entire school community. Its services range from structured support for a student with learning differences to drop-in assistance for a student working through a rough draft or difficult problem set. The LRC's peer-mentoring program trains students to share their knowledge and skills with others. The Center also serves as a vital resource to adults in the community - teachers and parents alike - who can benefit from engaging in the shared conversations about excellence in teaching and learning.
