THE COLLEGE SEARCH STARTS WITH YOU
College
Our goal is to ensure that all Severn students become informed and empowered applicants to the colleges which provide the academic and community setting best suited for their success.
Your Team
Through our seminar program, workshops, and regular communication from our office, we engage with students and help them prepare for the college search long before they are assigned to one of our counselors. We will help you define goals and locate information about colleges, scholarships, financial aid, summer programs, and careers. We will help you build a testing timeline, advise you about selecting courses and your teacher recommendations, and help you craft a list of colleges that meet your individual academic, financial, and personal goals. As an advocate on your behalf, your college counselor will root for your success, help you highlight special strengths, and support your college application with a letter of recommendation. Collectively, our counselors have decades of experience in both college admissions and college counseling, have visited hundreds of colleges, read more than 40K essays, and have gone through the college admission process as a parent.
