In addition to creating a painting outdoors, students will also work on a more conceptual painting where they will be asked to use an idea(s) to inform their artwork. This balance working between figurative and abstract, traditional and contemporary, will provide art students with the experience of creating in different ways as a means of finding their voice. Along the way we will look at various artists who use(d) painting as means of expressing their ideas, and talk about our ideas on art, our work, and the work of others.
