Faculty Professional Development Funds

We provide training throughout the school year, host a stellar program of summer classes taught by and for Severn faculty, support travel to conferences, offer grants for professional growth, and more. These funds ensure that we can attract and retain expert and dynamic faculty who are committed to lifelong learning.
DOMENECH OUTSTANDING UPPER SCHOOL FACULTY AWARD
Established in 1990 by an anonymous gift from a parent and named in honor of the first recipient, Upper School Head Julian Domenech, Sr. The fund annually awards an outstanding Upper School Faculty member selected by the senior class.

G. PARKER LINDSAY FUND

Established in 1995 in memory of a beloved coach, teacher, and administrator at Severn from 1939-1969.

GRAW FAMILY INNOVATION AWARD AND ENTREPRENEURIAL FUND

Established in 2014 by the Graw Family as an endowed chair position for the Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurial Programs at Severn School.

JAMES M. DONNELLY FACULTY ENDOWMENT FUND

Established in 1984 by the Severn School Board of Trustees in honor of Mr. Donnelly, who served as Severn’s head of school from 1973-1984,  to provide funds for summer studies or enrichment for faculty.

LAPIDES ENDOWMENT FUND

Established in 1985 in honor of Alumni Parent and Trustee, Morton M. Lapides.

MILLARD ENDOWMENT FUND

Established in 2000 by alumni Stephens Millard ‘51 and his wife Linda to support summer professional development and unique hands-on experiences for Severn School faculty and staff.

SMART FAMILY ENDOWMENT

Established in 2004 to provide support for the Hoehn-Saric Family Center for Academic Excellence.
