The Water Street Players Proudly Present: Macbeth

“Something Wicked This Way Comes...” The Upper School Theatre Program and Water Street Players invite you to experience William Shakespeare's Macbeth like never before.
Reimagined in modern verse by acclaimed playwright Migdalia Cruz as part of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's "Play On Shakespeare!" series, this production breathes new life into the timeless tragedy.

Stripped to its raw essence, this adaptation delves deep into the themes of political ambition, personal envy, and the devastating consequences when the two collide. Follow the gripping journey of Macbeth, a celebrated war hero whose fateful encounter with three mysterious Witches plants the seed of a dark prophecy: he will rise to become King. But at what cost?

With his equally ambitious wife, Lady Macbeth, by his side, the couple descends into a chilling spiral of power, paranoia, and madness. As guilt and greed take hold, the line between loyalty and betrayal blurs, leading to a tragic unraveling that will leave you breathless.

Featuring a talented cast, evocative staging, and a fresh perspective on Shakespeare’s iconic work, this production promises an unforgettable evening of drama and intrigue. In the immortal words of Lady Macbeth, "what's done cannot be undone."

Macbeth runs from Thursday, November 20 – Saturday, November 22 at 7:00 PM in Price Auditorium. Tickets are available here.
