Open Doors After School Session for Grades 3-5

Chesapeake Campus
Open Doors is a program designed to promote education to Lower School students on the topic of Diversity. It is geared toward reflecting and appreciating how we are different from one another and how we are similar.  The ultimate goal is to reflect upon barriers that people create based on differences we have from one another. The students enjoy the time to openly discuss their thoughts in a safe environment.
 
School-day session: Friday, 10/9 (School-day sessions are conducted for all students in grades kindergarten through fifth)
What Happens If?
Students will use role play to understand how gender stereotypes affect our lives.

After-school sessions: 10/13 & 10/14 (After-school sessions are optional and are at no additional cost - please register with Tara Johnson)
Thinking Outside the Box
In this lesson, we will explore the book Rosie Revere, Engineer and Rosie's discovery of her hidden talent.
· K-2nd Graders:. Tuesday, October 13 from 3:15 - 4:00p
· 3-5th Graders: Wednesday, October 14 from 3:15 - 4:00p
