Severn falls 9-4 to Glenelg Country Day School

 

Ricky Treanor did all he could to give Admirals a boost, but it wasn't enough to get past Glenelg Country Day School, as Admirals lost 9-4 in seven innings at @ Kinder Park on Wednesday.

 

Ricky Treanor led Admirals' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He doubled in the second inning.  Zach Domenech was 2 for 3 on the day with two singles.

 

Figueroa got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over 4 2/3 innings. Figueroa struck out two, walked one and gave up six hits.

 

Glenelg Country Day School was sparked by Flores and Sheehan, who teamed up for seven hits and five RBIs.

 

The top of the second saw Glenelg Country Day School take an early lead, 2-0. Farnella got things going for Glenelg Country Day School with a single. A stolen base then moved Farnella from first to second. Sheehan singled, scoring Farnella. Glenelg Country Day School added more runs when Sheehan scored on an RBI single by Smith.

 

Admirals scored two runs of its own in the second. Admirals scored on an error and an RBI double by Ricky Treanor.

 

Glenelg Country Day School went up for good in the third, scoring two runs on a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Will Seiferth.

 

Glenelg Country Day School pushed across one run in both the fourth inning and the sixth. In the fourth, Glenelg Country Day School scored on an RBI single by Flores, plating Sheehan.

 

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fourth, Admirals faced just a 5-3 deficit. An error fueled Admirals' comeback. But, Figueroa got Ricky Treanor to to end the inning.

 

One run in the bottom of the fifth helped Admirals close its deficit to 5-4. An RBI single by Jack Treanor triggered Admirals' comeback. Finally, Dougherty induced an inning-ending ground out from Christian Marciano.

 

Severn loses their first game of the season, their record goes to 12-1.
