The long-awaited Dining Hall and Student Store cash cards are working well. Students are being issued their personal swipe cards to use in both Bauer Dining Hall and at the School Store, eliminating the need for students to carry cash. Parents ‘load’ the cards with a monetary balance separate from the student billing account. The amount put on the card depends on the frequency that your child visits the Dining Hall and School Store. An average amount for a meal at lunch is between $4 and $5. Here's the process:
Send in a check made payable to Severn School (to the Business Office) for the amount you wish to add to your student’s pre-paid card.
The Business Office will record the amount and issue your child a card. Each card will feature the student’s photograph, making it easier to identify the owner should the card be misplaced.
You will be notified by the Business Office when the amount remaining on the card is low.
Students will not be able to use the card if there is no balance remaining. This is a pre-pay system.
Cash card transactions will not be reflected in any way on your student tuition and fee statements; this is a separate system and service for our families.
Students must have their cards present when processing transactions.
A fee will be charged for replacing a lost card.
You are not required to use this service; it is optional, and cash will still be accepted in the Dining Hall and in the School Store. Questions? Please contact Debby Hoskin, ext 2269, or Julie Pinnix, ext 2270.
