Erin Bernhardt Tapped to Lead New Girls’ Volleyball Program at Severn School

Erin Bernhardt has been named Head Coach for the new Severn Girls’ Volleyball Program, which has been added to the athletics lineup starting with the 2024-25 school year.
The program will initially compete at the Club level in 2024-25. After the initial transition year, the squad will compete in the IAAM as a full Varsity sport.

Bernhardt’s coaching resume includes nearly a decade of club and high school experience. She first coached at Orangewood Christian School in Maitland, Florida (her alma mater), then at Rutgers Preparatory School in New Jersey, and most recently at St. Mary’s High School in Annapolis, Maryland, where she spent six seasons. Her club team experience includes Legacy Volleyball Club in Florida and Princeton Volleyball Club in New Jersey.

Bernhardt played Division I volleyball at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina – part of the Big South Conference – followed by a post-grad year playing with Durham University in England. She also played professionally with the Florida Wave for one year and continues to play recreationally in local adult leagues.

“I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to lead the inaugural Girls’ Volleyball program at Severn,” said Bernhardt. “I appreciate the trust and belief Severn’s Athletic Director, Julian Domenech, has shown me in spearheading this effort. I can’t wait to get the process started. Go Admirals!”
