Eric Hadhazy '00

Hometown: Palo Alto, CA
Eric works at Stanford Health Care as the Director of Critical Care Quality at Stanford University Medical Center and is responsible for improving patient outcomes in the intensive care units. He has led several multidisciplinary teams focused on reducing infections and optimizing care in critically ill patients. Most recently, Eric helped create the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) Task Force to reduce mortality, length of stay, and infections for some of the highest acuity patients in the nation, resulting in Stanford being designated as an ECMO Center of Excellence. Eric graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2004 with majors in Biology and Psychology, and graduated with a Masters in Biotechnology from the Johns Hopkins University in 2009. Eric is a member of the San Mateo County Search & Rescue Team and is on specialized units for Technical Rescue and Urban Search & Rescue. He actively contributed to search and rescue during the Camp Fire, California’s deadliest and most destructive wildfire, and is nationally certified as an Emergency Medical Technician.
