    Location: Price Auditorium

Go inside the college admission process to develop a contextual understanding for who gets in and why. Learn from an insider how colleges use Early Decision, Early Action, the Wait List and second semester offers of admission to manage their enrollments. Discover the “Hidden Agenda” and see how testing, demonstrated interest and ability to pay can influence outcomes. “The Down and Dirty About the College Admission Process” is a very practical, logical interpretation of a complex and mysterious process.

    NFL Latin exams

The Middle School foreign language students will take their respective language exams the week before Spring Break.  These exams do not directly affect the students’ grades (although it is a great chance to review or expand their knowledge).  The exams are level based and are not age restricted so our middle school students are competing against high school and college students in the overall ranking.  Our students have done very well on these exams receiving many awards over the years

    LS: Open Doors

Open Doors is a program designed to engage kindergarten through fifth grade students in lessons, activities, and conversations that promote inclusivity. This program, taught by Renee Spears, encourages students to reflect upon and celebrate our differences and our similarities. Students enjoy time together to openly discuss their thoughts and feelings as well as listen to the thoughts and feelings of others.

Preschool and prekindergarten students will also have the opportunity to enjoy a modified Open Doors session near this date.

For the March 12 session, we will explore how to understand and respect differences and similarities of unique families, then exhibit pride in our own unique families without judging others.

    PS/PK Contract Extension Date

We understand that as students blossom throughout the year, parents of students attending half-day become interested in having their children attend full-day. .Enrollment options for preschool students include: 5 half days, 5 full days, 3 half days, 3 full days, with students in the 3-day program attending school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

To support our teachers and parents in increasing students’ time and experiences and to appropriately staff our classrooms, we have three effective dates for contracts to be amended during the 2019-2020 school year: October 11, January 24, and March 13.

If you wish to explore enrollment options to extend half days to full days, please contact Director of Instructional Programs Sherri Hoyt at 410-647-7701 extension 2025.  After talking with Sherri Hoyt, parents will be directed to contact Cliff Clorety in our Lower School Business Office (410-647-7701 extension 2061) prior to each effective date. Mr. Clorety will provide you with the tuition increase associated with increasing your child’s time.
  • LS Vision & Hearing Re-Screening

The Lower School, in cooperation with Anne Arundel County School Health Services, will conduct a Vision and Hearing Re-Screening on Friday, March 13, for students in the grades to be screened (PK, K, 1) who were absent on the initial screening date, as well as any students who need to be re-screened.
