Katherine Riddle '09

Hometown: Washington, DC
Since her time at Severn, Katherine has performed in theaters, opera houses and concert halls across the United States and abroad. In the world of musical theatre, Katherine has been seen in over 30 productions, including: The Secret Garden (Shakespeare Theatre Company), Sweeney Todd (Glimmerglass Festival), Oklahoma (Broadway World Best Actress nomination) and Les Misérables (Weathervane Playhouse).  Katherine has also enjoyed success in the operatic world, performing in La Bohéme with Glimmerglass Festival, and Madama Butterfly and Little Women with Annapolis Opera. In concert, Katherine has performed as a soloist with Signature Theatre, American Pops Orchestra, Fairfax Symphony, National Broadway Chorus, and many others.  Katherine has presented thoughtfully curated solo concerts at venues such as the Kennedy Center. She has also placed in various international voice competitions including the Lotte Lenya Competition, American Traditions Competition, National Society of Arts and Letters Musical Theatre Competition, and Hal Leonard Musical Theatre Competition.  Katherine graduated from American University and studied abroad at King’s College London and the Royal Academy of Music. She is currently based in DC and is an adjunct professor of voice at American University www.katherineriddle.com.
