LS Wegner Musician in Residence - Mike Noonan & The Unified Jazz Ensemble

The Elizabeth Wegner Memorial Fund was created to continue Mrs. Wegner’s legacy of instilling a joy for music by providing unique musical opportunities for the Lower School students of Severn School. This fall, as part of a Musician in Residence program made possible by The Elizabeth Wegner Memorial Fund, we have the privilege of welcoming Mike Noonan and The Unified Jazz Ensemble (http://www.unifiedjazz.com/) to the Lower School!

Our experience with Mr. Noonan will begin with an assembly for all Lower School students on Tuesday, October 23. Over the rest of the week, students in grades K-5 will participate in workshops with Mr. Noonan. The residency will culminate with a special performance assembly for all Lower School students and families at 1:30pm on Friday, October 26. At this assembly, K-5 students will share what they will have learned in their workshops.

Lower School families are invited to attend the performance on Friday, October 26. Because parking on campus is limited, we will provide shuttles to and from Woods Church if needed. (Please read The Binnacle for updates regarding parking on Oct 26.)

In honor of Mrs. Wegner's best kept secret of having "Crazy Sock Tuesdays", we will have "Crazy Sock Friday" on Friday, October 26. *Please note that out of uniform dress only applies to socks or tights; otherwise, students should be in uniform.
