The freshman team will host a reception featuring lite fare, dessert and refreshments one hour prior to the Homecoming dance. In hosting the event, we hope to encourage freshmen to come to the dance as a group and thereby diminish the pressure to find a date as well as the awkwardness of walking into their first high school dance alone. Amidst the music and dessert, freshmen can socialize on campus with their classmates and then go to the dance as a group. 

The 9th grade parent representative will be in contact with parents on volunteering for this event, which includes providing items for the reception. Parents do not attend the reception.
