Freshmen Take CWRA

On Wednesday morning, Freshmen will be taking the College Work and Readiness Assessment (CWRA)*. In the afternoon, after the testing, freshmen (and sophomores) will take part in an leadership workshop that will last until 2:35p, the duration of the school day. Freshmen must be at school no later than 7:45a and be ready to start their tests at 8:00a sharp. Freshmen must BRING their own lunches. A snack and break will be provided between the assessments. 
 
* The CWRA has pioneered the use of performance-based assessments, measuring critical-thinking, analysis and problem solving, scientific and quantitative reasoning, writing, critical reading and evaluation, writing effectiveness and mechanics, and the ability to critique and construct arguments. Student CWRA results can be used for formative purposes to evaluate students’ strengths or areas requiring further attention. Test results are used only for internal purposes of school program design. The freshmen will take this test again at the end of senior year.
