Specialty Camps

Choose your Summer Adventure

Each camp features a captivating week-long narrative that’s crafted to keep kids giggling and engaged — every year we introduce new themes to spark imagination and let creativity soar. Whether your child is brand new to the camp experience or already knows the ropes, our camps offer great opportunities for kids to gain confidence, make friends, explore their passions and try something new.
Severn offers an array of specialty camps for hands-on learning, giving students the chance to explore their passions (or develop one!) in areas ranging from chess, puppet making, and pottery to outdoor adventure and survival skills. Combine day camp and specialty camp by alternating weeks for a customized Summer at Severn experience.

For campers grade 1-5, specialty camps are located on Chesapeake Campus. For campers grade 6-12, specialty camps are located on Teel campus. Camps run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Daily activities are planned for age-appropriate camper skill levels.

Outdoor Play for Every Child

It is important for all children to be active and outside each day. Campers will have free time on our playground and sports fields several times a day. Many weekly activities and games will be conducted outside, weather permitting.

Swimming

Chesapeake Campus campers who would like to participate in swimming three times a week must sign-up during registration. Campers will not have the option of adding swimming to their registration after camp has already started.

For campers who have pre-registered for the activity, we will travel to North Severna Park Pool on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for an hour of supervised swim time. Campers who would like to swim should bring a swimsuit, sunscreen and a towel. We will also have supervised activities on Chesapeake Campus for campers who are not registered to swim.
