Community Enrichment

Fun with a Purpose

Where is the best place to start making a difference in the world? Right in our own community! Summer at Severn’s Community Enrichment Camp mixes educational fun with the responsibility to take care of the people and places around us. This program is open to campers grade 6 through 10 and operates out of Teel Campus.

  • Summer 2020 camp registration will open February 1st!

2020 Dates and Cost - TBA

Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Grades: 6-10
Cost: TBA

The group has a limit of 12 campers per week. Those campers who choose to participate will have the unique opportunity to discover one of Severn’s most valuable assets, our community!

What You'll Do

Campers will spend their mornings exploring the many service related projects our community has to offer through a variety of off-campus opportunities. Interacting and socializing with animals from a local rescue group, assisting with clean up and maintenance at county parks, visiting residents at a nearby senior living facility and learning CPR and fire safety from the professionals are a few of the opportunities that await campers who choose to be a part of this vibrant program. Certificates of Service are presented to each camper with his/her total number of hours served.

**Please note there is no camp on Thursday, July 4th.

What to Bring

Campers are asked to bring work/gardening gloves, sunscreen, refillable water bottle(s), a hearty non-perishable lunch and snacks. No open-toed shoes, please. Please label all items brought to camp. Upon returning to Teel campus after morning service work, campers will enjoy lunch, go to the pool and be dismissed at 3:00.

Outdoor Play for Every Child

It is important for all children to be active and outside each day. Campers will have free time on our playground and sports fields several times a day. Many weekly activities and games will be conducted outside, weather permitting.

Chesapeake Campus Before and After Care

Extended hours are offered from 7:30 - 9:00 am and 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the Chesapeake Campus.

Registration may be for the morning, afternoon, or both. A limited number of drop-in spaces will be available each day for a fee of $11 per hour, payable on a daily basis.
