For most, the holiday season can be summed up in one word, busy! There are events, celebrations, decorations, donations, and every year it feels like more, more, more. With so much going on, it can be easy to get wrapped up (pun intended!) in all the hustle and bustle and forget the reasons why we do what we do. Here’s a little reminder of how we celebrate the holidays — and our students — at Severn School.
Lower School Instrumental Concert
Our Lower School string ensemble and band performed in the newly renovated Louise Sivy Theater. Our talented third through fifth-grade musicians staged a wonderful program of musical selections, including a few seasonal favorites.
Lower School Pajama Day and Caroling Assembly
The entire Lower School wore pajamas or dress down attire with an optional donation to support children in need at Sarah's House. After a morning of cozy PJ fun, every grade joined together to sing holiday favorites, dance, giggle, and wiggle their way toward winter break.
Middle School Winter Concert
Our Middle School artists shared their first-semester work with family and friends at this annual arts event. Our talented and energetic Middle School dancers wowed the crowd with jazzy numbers while the chorus and band pulled out all the stops to show off their musical chops!
Upper School Revels Performance
Performances by the Concert Choir, Chamber Music Ensemble, Introduction to the Performing Arts, Vocal Ensemble, Instrumental Ensemble, and the Severn Jam Band left the crowd in a roar and breathless at once. The groups presented a wide array of music of different styles, cultures and periods and took full advantage of Price Auditorium to surround the audience with a chorus of voices.
