Chesapeake Camps

Summer at Severn Chesapeake Camps are a magical mix of creativity, learning, and adventure for children entering preschool through 5th grade. Our week-long sessions are led by nurturing Severn School teachers, alumni and student counselors who know just the right moment to give an epic high five or a supportive helping hand. Chesapeake campers love to try new things, giggle with friends and squeeze the most fun possible out of each and every day!

Day Camp

Day camps provide a safe and stimulating environment for students as young as age 3 1/2 through those entering fifth grade. Our week-long sessions are made up of fun and educational activities centered on a different weekly theme.

Chesapeake Specialty Camps

We offer an array of specialty camps for hands-on learning, giving students the chance to explore their passions (or develop one!) in areas ranging from painting and pottery to robotics and writing.

Jumpstart Academic Camps

New this year...Jumpstart Academic Camps for rising kindergarten through 5th grade! Each Jumpstart will give campers an opportunity to brush up on their reading, writing, and math skills. Third through fifth-grade classes will begin reading the required Severn summer reading book.

Teel Camps

Summer at Severn Teel Camps are designed for campers entering grades 5-12 who are ready to ignite their passions and soar to new heights. Led by enthusiastic (and super cool!) Severn School teachers, these immersive week-long experiences are sure to spark the innovator, creator, and fun-seeker within! From designing graphic novels and mastering chess to throwing clay on the pottery wheel, if your kid digs it, we’ve got a camp for it.

Teel Specialty Camps

Teel Specialty Camps are offered as full-day or half-day sessions (morning or afternoon). Pair half-day sessions with our new Middle School Academic Jumpstart Camps for a curated summer of fun!

Middle School Jumpstart Academic Camps

New this year...Jumpstart Academic Camps for Middle School! Discover the world of learning at with hands-on experiences in a wide variety of academic areas. These are half-day sessions (morning or afternoon).

• WEEK 2: Mathematical Mindsets (morning)
• WEEK 4: Short Story Book Club (morning)
• WEEK 5: Jumpstart to 6th Grade Math (morning)

Community Enrichment Camp

Where is the best place to start making a difference in the world? Right in your own community! Community Enrichment Camp mixes educational fun with the responsibility to take care of the people and places around us. This week-long camp is offered all six weeks of the 2020 season and is open to rising 6th-12th graders (alternate weeks for middle and high school). Signed certificates of service will be presented to each camper with the total number of hours served. 

Sports Camps

If you want to improve your offensive skills, become a better defender or go head-to-head against a rival, our athletic camps are the place for you. We invite novice and experienced athletes alike to learn and sharpen their skills in a challenging but instruction-rich environment at Severn’s sports camps including lacrosse, soccer, field hockey, football, and basketball. Although our sports camps take place at Severn, they are hosted by individual organizations, each with its own registration process.

Each camp session offers something different, but every camp is a place where kids can make friends, try something new, have a ton of fun and learn along the way. From the first moment they walk in the door until the last day when we say our goodbyes, our campers realize that they are part of a greater community; that they really are a part of our Severn family.
