A Day on the Green to Support Admiral Athletics

It was a beautiful day for Severn School's 29th Annual Admiral's Cup Golf Outing at Queenstown Harbor! Every year, this event brings us together to compete for a cause, share the sunshine with friends and support our student-athletes. Since 1992, the event has been a major vehicle in raising both funding and appreciation for Severn Athletics. We are grateful for your generous support. Go, Admirals!
In the past, proceeds from this event have gone to support equipment and uniform needs for individual teams, team jackets for all athletes, coaches gear, three scoreboards (two in Memorial Gym and one on Joe’s Field) and a $125,000 pledge to the Campaign for the Edward St. John Athletic Center, among a number of other initiatives.

About Admiral Athletics

At Severn, we believe athletics is an extension of the classroom in which young people are challenged both mentally and physically in their pursuit of personal excellence. Our program is committed to a quality experience highlighted by perseverance, pride and teamwork. The importance of integrity, sportsmanship and personal excellence in a competitive environment are at the core of our program.
"Since its founding, Severn School has always kept in mind the abiding reason why sports are in schools: they have the important capacity to be educational. Through athletics, a young person can learn to develop skills that complement the classroom experience. They can learn how to set long-term goals and be dedicated to them, learn how to problem solve in the midst of pressure-filled situations, and learn to recognize the importance of honest effort, contribution, and sportsmanship. The habits established through athletic competition—resilience, stamina, and perseverance—can last a lifetime." — Head of School Doug Lagarde
