    The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed on 9 August each year to raise awareness and protect the rights of the world's indigenous population.     LS: Used Uniform Sidewalk Sale

    The Lower School APA is thrilled to announce a used uniform sidewalk sale for all Lower School families on Tuesday, August 24, from 9:00am-12:00pm (rain date Thursday, August 26).  Please note the following:
    • The cost is $3/piece.
    • Credit card and check payments will be accepted - no cash.
    • Volunteers are needed to help with the sale - if you are interested in helping, or for more information, please contact Deb Smith at d.smith@severnschool.com.
    • Tote bags for PS/PK/K students will also be available for $10.00 (exact cash or check for the tote bags, please).
    Additionally, the APA is collecting used uniforms in good condition.  You are welcome to drop off donations at the Lower School between 8:00am and 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, for the remainder of summer break, or anytime during drop-off once school resumes.  We ask that you please not send in uniforms with holes, paint, or any large stains, as these cannot be included in APA used uniform sales.  Thank you for your donations!

    Women's Equality Day is celebrated in the United States on August 26 to commemorate the 1920 adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution, which prohibits the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex.

    Simply select the "Yearbook" sitting option, and then select your date/time. You may also choose to select the Bronze, Silver, or Gold sitting option, for additional outfit options.
     
    Yearbook Photo Dress Code
    Your yearbook portrait will be a traditional head and shoulder pose in the required suit and tie or drape with a standard blue background. Drapes will be provided for your use. Gentlemen should bring their own suit jacket and tie. Dress and appearance must adhere to academic year expectations.  Additional casual poses are offered depending on your sitting option.

    New to Upper School Parent and Transfer Student Orientation and Dinner

    5:00 pm-6:30 pm: Parent Orientation, New Gym
    • Mr. Lagarde, Mr. Soden, Dr. Smith, Ms. Jackson, Ms. Straub, Mr. Buckley, and an APA member will talk with families.
    • In attendance will be all 9th grade parents, all new 10th-12th grade parents, and all new 10th-12th graders.
    6:30 pm-7:15 pm Dinner

    7:15 pm-7:45 pm: All Students and Parents return to New Gym
    • Dress code fashion show by Prefects -- TBD 
    • Questions and Answer session for students and/or parents.
