    • Once you have completed all the steps you will receive an email (at the address you provide) to confirm your appointments.

    US Blood Drive

    Red Cross Blood Drive in Memorial Gym from 8:00AM-1:30PM. Students who would like to schedule a donation can sign up during lunch from Monday October 29 through Friday November 2 OR see Mrs. Blanck.     LS Parent Coffee: Building a Mathematical Mindset

    Recent research on mathematical mindsets is turning some long-standing beliefs about mathematics learning on their heads. These studies have important implications for students, parents, and classroom teachers. Parents of all Lower School students are invited to join Lower School Math Specialist Stacy Shaener (s.shaener@severnschool.com) on Thursday, November 8 as she unpacks the ideas of mathematical mindsets and why it is necessary for our students to develop one.

    US Latin Club certamen

    The Latin Club invites everyone to the inaugural Severn certamen on November 9 from 5-7 pm. The Latin Club has been participating in these trivia competitions since last year, and wants to share the experience with the Severn community. This one is not only for Latin students, but anyone can join the fun (think Trivia Night meets Percy Jackson meets Russel Crowe in Gladiator). The certamen will take place in Ms. Campbell’s classroom (Teel 202).

    US Movie Night

    Severn School’s Film Club is hosting their first movie night of the year on Friday, November 9th at 7 PM in Roche Lecture Hall.  There will be free snacks and drinks for anyone who comes out. Additionally, there will be a free raffle for anyone who attends and the prize will be a $20 gift card of the winner’s choice.All upper school students are welcome to this free screening.  The movie should be over by 9:00 PM.  Stay tuned for details about the film, as the students are voting on which sports related film to screen.

    APA Joint Meeting at Teel Campus

    Join parents from the lower, middle and upper schools for the first Joint APA meeting of the year! We will come together as a whole school parent community to network, brainstorm new ideas, share plans and updates for the year, and build friendships across campuses. A portion of this meeting will be focused on the APA annual auction---your ideas and support are appreciated! 

    Coffee and lite fare will be available beginning at 8:00 a.m., however the meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. to ensure Chesapeake Campus parents arrive safely after drop off. Parking will be reserved in the Alumni House parking lot. 

    Lower school parents are invited to stay after the meeting for an informal tour and highlights of the Teel campus. We look forward to seeing everyone!

    APA Greens Workshop at Teel Campus

    Parents of the lower, middle and upper schools are invited to join in our Annual Greens workshop---we will put together holiday gifts for the faculty and staff, as well as prepare greens to decorate for the holiday season. The gifts and the greens are for both the Chesapeake and Teel campuses. Please freel free to come and stay as long as you wish---coffee, hot chocolate and other festive treats will be provided. We look forward to getting into the spirit of winter and the holidays with fellow Severn parents!

    Reserved parking will be available in the Alumni House parking lot. Please utilize this parking to ensure that our students arrive and park safely and on time for school.

    LS Head for the Day: BLUE DAY!

    Olivia Arnold '26 will be the Lower School Head for the Day on Friday, November 30, and she has a great day planned for our Lower School students!
     
    Olivia has chosen Friday, November 30 as "BLUE DAY".  All Lower School students may dress down in blue - any and every shade! - for a $1 donation. Funds raised will support The Baltimore Humane Society (bmorehumane.org). 

    On November 30, lunch will be provided for the Class of 2026 (fifth grade students). Lunch will include Subway sandwiches, chips, drinks, and cookies.  Fifth grade students may also eat their hot lunches and/or lunches brought from home on this day.
     
    Students in Preschool through Fourth Grade should bring their lunches or order from Lunch Box on this day.
     
    We are looking forward to Olivia's special day!

    All parents of Severn 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to join us for and evening of friendship, cocktails and conversation at the Alumni House, 116 Maple Avenue, from 6:30 - 8: 30 p.m. Appetizers will be served; please bring your favorite six-pack or bottle of wine to share. A special thank you to Joe '94 and Nicole Burke of  J. Burke Catering (Jackson '25) for generously catering this event!
