|Severn boys soccer takes MIAA B Conference crown|
Severn's 2014 campaign was, well, perfect.
OK, OK, so the Admirals boys soccer team did suffer one setback, falling to non-league opponent South River early in the season, but through its 2-1 victory against Gerstell Academy Sunday, Severn finished Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference play without a blemish, capturing its first league crown since 2002 at Stevenson University.

Denied a shot at a MIAA B Conference soccer title in 2013, as the top seed, by a semifinal playoff loss to eventual champion Gerstell Academy, Severn School made the long journey back to the 2014 playoffs, again as the top seed. This time the outcome was different as the 11th-ranked Admirals reached the title game and avenged last year's setback with a 2-1 win over Gerstell, Sunday at Stevenson University, to capture that elusive championship.

Students in the New Business Ventures – Math and the Entrepreneur class journeyed to Essex recently to the Tessamae's All Natural plant. Tessamae's is a homegrown business making salad dressings and condiments. It also just so happens that they have a Severn connection: Claire Bowersox Vetter's '03 husband is one of the company's founders - three brothers who are all former lacrosse players.
