Independent Senior Projects (ISPs) are well under way as the first week comes to a close today. Our 100 seniors are involved in a myriad of fascinating non-paying, service-related projects, vocational related activities, and school-sponsored academic/intellectual trips. ''I have been impressed with not only the variety of projects but also the depth of the projects... I know first hand that the students working with Habitat for Humanity are gaining valuable skills and life lessons," said Eric Witzel , 2009 Class Dean. The ISP Program is under the direction of the Upper School Head and senior class dean, who reviewed all ISP proposals and works with students to ensure that they each have a positive and worthwhile culminating experience. Seniors return to campus on Tuesday, June 2, to present to one another a synopsis of their experience. Following are just some of the many intriguing ISPs currently in progress:
Writing a novel
Interning for Ravens sports marketing
Shadowing a physician/dentist/for Shock Trauma
Building for Habitat for Humanity
Interning with a molecular biologist
Acting as a teacher’s aide
Working at a hospital in Ghana
Interning at the Pacific Whale Foundation/Animal Resource Foundation
