Open Doors School Day Session for grades K-5

Open Doors is a program designed to engage kindergarten through fifth grade students in lessons, activities, and conversations that promote inclusivity. This program, taught by Renee Spears, encourages students to reflect upon and celebrate our differences and our similarities. Students  enjoy time together to openly discuss their thoughts and feelings as well as listen to the thoughts and feelings of others.
 
School-day session: Friday, October 7 (School-day sessions are conducted for all students in grades kindergarten through fifth) 
 
Are you an honest person?
Students will recognize the importance of honesty in their daily interactions with peers. Students will identify how honesty cultivates trusting relationships and will have the opportunity to examine their own sincerity, loyalty, and integrity within themselves.
 
After-school sessions (After-school sessions are optional and are offered at no additional cost please register with Tara Johnson)
 
The Empty Pot
Why is it important to be honest? Students will explore why it is a good idea to tell the truth even when situations may make it hard.
  • K-2nd graders: Tuesday, October 11 from 3:15 - 4:00p
  • 3-5th graders: Wednesday, October 12 from 3:15 - 4:00p
