With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we thought it fitting to celebrate a week of THANKS and GIVING.
Faculty Luncheon & Gift of Gratitude: 11/7Faculty and staff will be treated to a delightful luncheon and special gift courtesy of our generous APA (Admirals Parents' Association).
Lower School "Week of Giving" Collection for The Light House
AAMC Blood Drive: 11/7
The blood drive will occur on Monday, November 7 from 8:00 am– 1:30 pm. This is the first day of parent-teacher conferences so there will not be any classes held on this day. You must be at least 16 years old to donate and all Severn students must have a signed parent consent form when you arrive for your donation appointment. Sign-up here. Parents, students, and faculty are encouraged to sign up to donate. All blood donors will receive one free Bow Tie Cinema movie ticket.
Lower School "Week of Giving" Collection for The Light HouseThe Light House, located in Annapolis, provides shelter for the homeless, services to prevent homelessness, and programs to help people get back on their feet. The Lower School Student Council's "A Week of Giving" starts November 7 and ends 11, concluding with a Dress Down Day ($1 Donation) on Friday, November 11. The students researched the various needs of the shelter and determined how we as school community can assist the residents in their goal of becoming self-sufficient. Student Council is asking students in each grade to a donate specific item, or a gift card from Target, CVS, or Shoppers Food Warehouse. Click here to see grade specific items.

All School Call for Coats: 11/9 - 11/11Please donate your seldom used or outgrown coats and warm up someone’s winter! Severn School is teaming up with Admiral Cleaners in a Call for Coats campaign at both the Chesapeake and Teel campuses. The coat drive will take place on November 9, 10 and 11 as part of the Severn Week of Thanks and Giving.
- At the Teel Campus, students from the Severn Service Society will help collect coats from both Middle School and Upper School advisory groups.
- At the Chesapeake Campus, volunteers and students will help collect the donated coats from cars during morning drop off.
All coat sizes are welcome—infant through adult. Donated coats will be cleaned by Admiral Cleaners and given to needy members of the community this winter. Many thanks to the Kerridge Family of Admiral Cleaners (Scott '87, Whitney '88, Haley '17, Travis '18 and Jack '24). Clean out your closets and help support the community!

MS/US Veterans Day Assembly: 11/11In honor of this special day, Upper Schoolers will be inspired by stories of character, courage, integrity, leadership and service. Friday is also MS/US Grandfriends' Day.
Students at the Lower School will commemorate Veterans Day with a special assembly including student presentations, and musical performances. Parents and other family members who have served our country will be recognized. Lower School students will dress in patriot colored attire.
