Paying for College: Helpful Strategies for Parents

Severn and Key Schools invite parents to this special program where information designed to help understand the financial aid process and paying for college will be shared. Because the costs associated with higher education often require a long term plan, this event is open to all Upper School parents and we encourage any interested parties to attend.
This program is aimed at parents of seniors, although all are welcome to attend. Jane Hicks, Director of Financial Aid at UMBC, will walk us through how colleges assess a family’s financial need, and how colleges construct financial aid packages to meet that need. In particular, she will cover the changes which have been made to the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This is not a financial planning seminar, but rather an explanation of the nuts and bolts of applying for financial aid. Price Auditorium, 7:00 – 8:30 PM.
