    Location: Memorial Gymnasium
    Upper School students are again hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on campus, Wednesday, February 10 in Memorial Gym from 8:00-1:30p. The Severn community is invited to sign-up to schedule an appointment now
     
    Previous donors should use their established username and password to schedule an appointment through the link. Those scheduling their first donation will have to create a username and password first.

  • 7th Grade Parent Gathering

    The next 7th Grade Monthly Parent Gathering is set for Thursday, February 11, at the home of Katie Burrows ’92 (Sam ’21, Polly ’23 and Rebecca ’25)  - 140 Riverview Avenue, Annapolis, right after morning drop-off.
     
    Mark your calendar with these other 7th grade parent gathering dates, too: the second Thursday of every month: 3/10, 4/14, 5/12. All the 7th grade Parent Gatherings will be hosted at a home of 7th grade family… check the weekly Binnacle for the next location.

  • 2:30p Dismissal for Middle Schoolers

    Middle School will dismiss students at 2:30 for a professional development session. Please pick up your student(s) promptly at 2:30. There is no After School Program that day, not are there after school sports.
  • Middle School Modeling & Printing 3D Workshop

    Location: GIC
    Ms. Kelly Wilson, Director of Innovative & Entrepreneurial Programs, is offering a Fun with 3D Modeling & Printing workshop to Middle School students this Thursday, 2/11, from 2:35-3:35p.
     
    THERE IS ONLY ROOM FOR 18 STUDENTS - sign up NOW. If needed, a second session may be offered at a later date. Participants will be notified by 5:00p tomorrow if they are in this workshop.
     
    The workshop will provide training on the use of a 3D modeling application (Tinkercad) and our own 3D printers in the RxNT Tech Center. Participants will create their own custom design to print. 
     
    The workshop will be held in the Connect lab. Students must picked up by 3:45p as there is no after school program that day.

  • LS Spring Break Camp Registration Due

    Spring Break Camp at the Lower School is designed to allow Lower School students the opportunity to have a fun-filled, action-packed, and recreational camp experience at school during part of their Spring Break. This 5-day program runs during the second week of Spring Break (March 21-25) and the cost is $240 per student.
     
    The registration form and additional information are available HERE.  Registration forms are due back to the Lower School front desk with payment no later than Wednesday, February 17.

  • MS Community Life Committe Day

    Community Life will host its annual Community Life Day on Friday, February 19 for all Middle Schoolers. The event will be held from 8 to 10:00a, and will include three activities led by Middle School student members of Community Life.

    The activities will be centered on diversity, inclusion and the importance of these values to our Severn Middle School Community.

    The Community Life program in the Middle School offers ways to help students participate in, embrace, and celebrate our Middle School community. Community Life also creates opportunities for students to think about and discuss the larger issues of what it means to be part of a world community by exploring such topics as civility, equality, understanding others, and diversity. The student-run Community Life committee plans and executes Get Acquainted Day, Community Life Day, and a faculty vs. student friendly competition.

  • 9th Grade Parent Gathering

    Location: Einstein Bagels
    Parents of 9th graders, please join together for informal coffee and conversation at Einstein Bagels in Severna Park, right after morning drop-off.
  • 7th & 8th Grade Dodgeball Madness

    Location: Ed St John Athletic Center
    Dodgeball Madness: Revenge of the Teachers is set for Friday, February 26, from 6-8:30p in the Edward St. John Athletic Center. Students on the photography team should arrive by 5:45pm for a brief lesson with Ms. Parker in taking action photos before the main event kicks off.

    Parents, please drop off and pick-up students promptly at the gym that evening.

    If a student is staying on campus until the event, he or she MUST sign in to the After School Program in the Dining Hall. Mrs. Wachs will be sure to let them change and head down to the gym just before 6:00p.

    Team t-shirts will be distributed on Thursday or Friday, and players are reminded to wear non-marking shoes that are acceptable for activity in the new and old gyms. Pizza and cookies will be provided, and students with dietary restrictions are asked to contact Ms. Josey by Wednesday, 2/24. The winning team will receive a free dress down day.

    Admiral's Cup Archery Tournament

    Location: Ed St. John Athletic Center
    10:00 - 3:00p @ Edward St. John Athletic Center. Entry Fee: $20. Pre-register by February 21 by contacting Mr. Dan Mahoney. More information is available here. 

    This tournament is open to any archer who is of a National Archery in Schools Program (NASP): elementary, middle, and high school sudents. Awards will be given to top male and female shooters in numerous categories. Concessions will be available.
